artlogic supports the Forest Garden project in Tanzania

Giving something back is important to us. That´s why we support the project One Crew | One Tree and plant a tree for every crew booked digitally. One Crew | One Tree collaborates with different partners around the world. The new planting project is located in Tanzania in the periphery of a nature resort.

The Mahal Mountain Nationalpark is located on a peninsula directly on Lake Tanganyika, Africa’s second largest lake and the largest freshwater lake in the world. The mountain area with altitudes of up to 2,500 meters and large rain forests is home to a diversity of plants and animals, with a rich birdlife and one of the largest chimpanzee populations.

But in the surroundings we humans left our mark, deforested the land and converted it into agricultural space. The Garden Project aims to connect both usages – a natural and an agricultural one. Besides endemic trees, the Friends of Lake Tanganyika plant mostly fruit trees like Guava, Papaya, Banana and Avocado, but also oil palm, Maesopsi emnii and acacia polyacantha for a live fence.

Special about this project was, that Said K. Kasanula and his team invited us digitally to visit them on site when planting. Here you can see a short video:
