National Special Olympics in Berlin

In June, Berlin will be the venue for the National Special Olympics 2022 – and artlogic is pleased to have been commissioned to support a part of the event with stagehands including crew leader and forklift driver.

The Special Olympics is an international sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities. Just like the Olympic Games, the Special Olympics are held every four years. This year’s national summer games in Berlin are taking place under the motto “Together unbeatable”. They aim at promoting encounters and togetherness between people with and without disabilities. Between 19 and 24 June, there will be sporting competitions in 20 disciplines as well as a colourful supporting programme with diverse encounters throughout the city.

Berlin is expecting 4000 athletes for the competitions of the National Special Olympics. The winners of the Berlin Games will qualify for the World Games in June 2023, which will also take place in Berlin.
