Kultursommer 2026 – artlogic supports major cultural festivals

Once again this summer, we have the privilege of supporting two of Europe’s largest cultural festivals for two of our long-standing clients, working with a variety of crews and trades.

Both the ‘Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen’ and the ‘Ruhrtriennale – Festival of the Arts’ have once again entrusted us with supporting their programmes this year.

As one of Europe’s oldest theatre festivals, the ‘Ruhrfestspiele’ will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026 under the motto ‘Fear and Wonder’. “In fear and wonder lie two forces that keep us alive. They urge us not to close our eyes to the problems and conflicts of our world,” says Artistic Director Olaf Kröck in his statement on this year’s theme. Bringing together cultures and art forms has always been the aim of the Ruhrfestspiele. This year, the Ruhrfestspiele will run from 1 May to 13 June 2026, with the season comprising 80 productions and 220 events, according to the announcement.

Since 2002, however, the annual arts festival ‘Ruhrtriennale’ has been bringing together theatre, dance, performance, literature, installations and concerts. The extensive programme takes place across nine industrial heritage sites in the Rhine-Ruhr region.

The dates for this summer’s Ruhrtriennale have now been announced. Between 20 August and 20 September 2026, interdisciplinary productions spanning drama, musical theatre, concerts, dance, performance, installations, literature and dialogue will take place over four weeks in former industrial monuments. The programme for 2026 will be announced at the end of April.

With their large number of events and wide variety of venues, both festivals present a logistical challenge for us and the crew. They are already on site long before and after the official running times. We are delighted to be able to send our stagehands, technical assistants, forklift drivers and technicians out on such a diverse range of assignments as these festivals offer.
